Spielman fires James Wood to softball romp

HAGERSTOWN — Lani Spielman tossed a one-hitter as unbeaten James Wood thrashed North Hagerstown 15-0 in five innings in a non-conference softball clash on Monday.
Spielman struck out seven and helped her own cause by going 3 for 3 at the plate and driving in four runs. Rebecca Boone belted two doubles and a triple and drove in a pair, while going 3 for 3. Lauren King also went 3 for 3 and drove in two, while Lindsey Anderson was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
The Colonels improved to 7-0 on the season.
