Softball: Warriors 7, Colonels 6, 5 inn., rain

WINCHESTER — Sherando defeated James Wood in a Northwestern District softball game that was shortened to five innings because of rain at Ridge Field on Thursday night.

Tori Seymour went 2 for 3 with a double and a home run, and Blake Conner added three hits, including a double, and drove in a run for Sherando (12-7, 5-2 district). Ashton Clark went 1 for 3 and drove in two runs for the Warriors.

River Baird (7-3) got the victory in the circle. She allowed six runs (one earned) and struck out three.

James Wood pitcher Lani Spielman struck out three through three innings, and Lauren King fanned three in two innings for the Colonels.

Alyssa Brown, King, and Emma Van Horn each went 1 for 2 for the Colonels (13-2, 5-1).
