Softball - Nine Colonels named all-conference
James Wood had nine players receive All-Conference 21 West honors in selections announced on Friday.
On the first team, junior pitcher Lauren King was a unanimous selection, and she was joined by senior shortstop Courteney Harper, junior outfielder Camryn Rizzari, sophomore outfielder Emma Van Horn and catcher Lindsey Anderson.
On the second team, junior Lani Spielman was selected at second base and pitcher. She was joined by sophomore first baseman Rebecca Boone, sophomore outfielder Hailey Kaiser and freshman Afton Sykes, a designated player/flex selection.
Sherando junior first baseman Korenn Paige and freshman outfielder Blake Conner were both unanimous first team selections. Other Warriors on the first team are junior third baseman Tori Seymour, sophomore outfielder Brooke Moses and sophomore pitcher River Baird.
Sherando players on the second team are freshman shortstop Sierra Strosnider, senior outfielder Marissa Webb and freshman pitcher Lauren Smith.
Millbrook had two all-conference selections. Freshman Ivy Rosenberry was a first team flex/designated player selection and a second team pitcher, and junior shortstop Katie Tirona is a second team selection.
Handley sophomore Meghan Stokes made the first team as a utility selection.
Woodgrove junior pitcher Camryn Dolby was unanimously selected as the Player of the Year, and Sherando’s Clarence Smith is the Coach of the Year.
