Softball: Falcons 8, Colonels 6 (8)
WOODSTOCK — Ashley Ebersole’s walk-off homer in the eighth lifted Central over James Wood in Thursday’s Northwestern District game.
The Colonels (3-15, 2-12) led 6-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth but couldn’t preserve the three-run lead.
Amanda Morrison went 3-for-5 with a double and drove in three runs for Wood. Darla Doyle 2-for-4 with a double and drove in a pair of runs, and Lauren Zitsch went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs.
Erin McCarthy took the loss in relief.
