Softball: Pioneers 4, Colonels 3

WINCHESTER — Amanda Morrison completed her third career no-hitter, but host Millbrook prevailed to earn the No. 8 seed in the Northwestern District and end James Wood’s season.

In a game suspended from last month, the Colonels had 10 hits, but they allowed three runs on a two-out error during the first inning before the game was called.

Morrison (3-15) struck out four, walked six, hit a batter and surrendered one earned run.

Erin McCarthy and Whitney Dennis each went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Wood (3-17, 2-14).

Amber Wells got the win for Millbrook, which will visit No. 1 Sherando in the first round of the district tournament.
