Softball: Brentsville 2, James Wood 1

NOKESVILLE — Tea Cornett pitched a two-hitter as Brentsville topped James Wood on Monday.

The Tigers (17-1) won the contest on an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh.

Cadence Rieg allowed three hits and an unearned run with four strikeouts and a walk for the Colonels (14-3). Sophia Gerald allowed no hits, an unearned run, with two walks and two strikeouts. Jenna Shull and Kati Brannon each had a single for the James Wood, which scored an unearned run in the sixth to tie the game at 1-1.
