Softball: Colonels get four spots on All-Region 4D team

Region 4D runner-up James Wood had three players selected to the All-Region 4D team released on Tuesday.

Sherando (three) and Millbrook (two) also had multiple All-Region selections.

James Wood senior Cadence Rieg was selected to the First Team as an outfielder and the Second Team as a pitcher.

Other First Team selections: Millbrook: junior Jazmin Orr, sophomore designated player/utility Emma Martin; Sherando: sophomore pitcher Lily Wray.

Second Team selections: James Wood: junior catcher Aliza Judd, sophomore shortstop Brynnen Williams; Sherando: sophomore outfielder Mady Cox, senior outfielder Abby Vadnais.

Jefferson Forest junior pitcher Ameila Long, a Pittsburgh commit, was named the Player of the Year. Gary Harris was named the Coach of the Year for guiding Jefferson Forest to the region title.
