Raiders 3, Colonels 0

WINCHESTER — Loudoun County scored twice in the first inning and went on to a non-district victory over James Wood in the Colonels’ season opener Wednesday night.

The Raiders managed just four hits, but the Colonels weren’t able to push across a run after managing just two themselves. Erin McCarthy and Whitney Dennis each had singles.

Lauren Myers took the loss, allowing three runs (one earned), four hits and one walk while striking out four in four innings. McCarthy pitched three hitless innings of relief and walked one batter.
