PURCELLVILLE- Loudoun Valley hit a two-run double with no outs in the bottom of the seventh to defeat James Wood in the Colonels' season opener Monday.
James Wood was led by pitcher Kierstyn Peacoe (six innings, three earned runs, five hits, nine strikeouts), Sara Hoover (2 for 3 with a double and a run) and Megan Christian (2 for 3 with a run).
