Softball: Colonels 4, Huskies 3

WINCHESTER- James Wood scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to defeat Tuscarora in a non-district game Tuesday.

The Colonels (9-2-1), which surrendered a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh, tied the game when Amanda Higgins' one-out double scored Charlotte Viands (2 for 3 with two RBIs). Megan Christian then hit a grounder to shortstop, which was thrown away for an error and allowed Higgins to score.

James Wood was also led by Rachael Largent (2 for 2 with a run) and Kierstyn Peacoe (8-1), who went the distance and allowed one earned run, eight hits, two walks and struck out seven.
