Britani Myers — Handley — Senior — Middle Distance
The area’s best in the 400 and 800. Myers, who will run for Virginia Tech next year, placed first in the Group AA in the 400 (56.18) , the 800 (2:14.58) and ran on the 4x100 team that set a state record in placing first in Group AA (48.04). In Region II, Myers placed first in the 400. In the Northwestern District, Myers placed first in the 400 and 800.
Miles Crosby — Clarke — Junior — Jumps
The area’s best in the triple jump. Crosby placed fifth in Group A in the triple jump (34-2). In Region B and the Bull Run District, Crosby placed first in the triple jump.
Amber Hawkins — Wood — Junior — Distance
Hawkins placed second in Group AA in the 1,600 (5:03.58) and fourth in the 3,200 (11:23.54). In Region II, Hawkins placed second in the 1,600 and fourth in the 800. In the Northwestern District, Hawkins placed second in both the 800 and 1,600.
Verna Hilaire-Lee — Handley — Senior — Sprints, Jumps
The area’s best in the 100, 200 and long jump. Hilaire-Lee, who will compete for Virginia Commonwealth next year, placed first in Group AA in the 200 (24.97) and third in the 100 (12.13), and ran on the 4x100 team that set a state record in placing first in Group AA (48.04). In Region II, Hilaire-Lee placed first in the 100 and 200. In the Northwestern District, Hilaire-Lee placed first in the 100, 200, long jump and triple jump.
Katie Houser — Wood — Freshman — Jumps
The area’s best in the high jump. In Group AA, Houser placed fourth in the high jump (5-2). In Region II, Houser placed first in the high jump. In the Northwestern District, Houser placed first in the high jump and third in the triple jump.
Lisa Meneau — Handley — Junior — Hurdles
The area’s best in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Meneau placed first in Group AA in the 300 hurdles (43.51), second in the 100 hurdles (14.77) and ran on the 4x100 team that set a state record in placing first in Group AA (48.04). In Region II, Meneau placed first in the 300 hurdles and second in the 100 hurdles. In the Northwestern District, Meneau placed first in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
Crystal Nelson — Millbrook — Senior — Distance
The area’s best in the 1,600 and 3,200. Nelson placed first in Group AA in the 1,600 (4:59.34) and the 3,200 (10:57.43). In Region II, Nelson placed first in the 1,600 and second in the 800. In the Northwestern District, Nelson placed first in the 1,600.
