James Wood Track Sweeps 6-Team Meet

WOODSTOCK — The James Wood boys’ and girls’ track and field teams each won in a six-team meet Wednesday at Central High School.
The James Wood boys scored 129.5 points, and they were followed by Central (104), Strasburg (99), Clarke County (83), Page County (33) and Massanutten Military Academy (11.5).
The James Wood girls scored 149 points, and they were followed by Clarke County (105.33), Central (96.33), Strasburg (63.33), Page County (34), and MMA (11).
The James Wood boys were led individually by Sawyer Michelitch (the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 81/4 inches.
Clarke County’s one winner was Zach Campbell (800 in 2:01 and 1,600 in 4:39).
Colonel girls individual winners were Amber Hawkins (the 800 in 2:32 and the 1,600 in 5:35), Noelle Schoeman (the 100 hurdles in 17.6 and the 300 hurdles in 50.7), Princess Sales (the 100 in 12.7) and Brittany Arnold (the 3,200 in 12:56).
Clarke County individual winners were Channing Alsberry (the 200 in 26.9), Delia Condon (the high jump in 5-0) and Michelle Yates (the shot put in 36-7).
