Colonels win Northwestern tri-meet
WINCHESTER — The James Wood girls’ track and field team won and the Colonels boys’ team tied with Millbrook in a Northwestern District tri-meet with Handley Wednesday.
The James Wood and Millbrook boys’ teams each scored 56 points, and Handley scored 51.
The James Wood girls scored 65 points, Handley scored 52 and Millbrook scored 46.
Princess Sales won the 100 (14.07 seconds) and the 200 (28.83) and Amber Hawkins won the 800 (2:32.63) and the 1,600 (5:32.67) for the Colonel girls while Sawyer Michelitch won the 100 (12.11) and the 200 (24.27) and Mark Bohler won the 800 (2:07.65) and the 1,600 (4:48.07) for the James Wood boys.
McKenzie Schrank took the 100 hurdles (16.78) and the 300 hurdles (48.69) for the Millbrook girls and Connor Faint won the 300 hurdles (42.74) and the high jump (5-4) and Justin Neff won the shot put (40-10) and the discus (146-8) for the Pioneer boys.
