TRACK AND FIELD - Warrior boys, Colonel girls win in dual
STEPHENS CITY — The Sherando boys won 84-57 and the James Wood girls won 74-67 in a Northwestern District dual meet Wednesday at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Sherando boys were led by individual winners Josh Ojo (100 meters in 11.36 seconds), Andrew Mathew (200 in 24.72), Hunter Green (400 in 1:01.39), Ryan Hindle (800, no time provided), Thomas Shea (1,600 in 4:47.10) and Branden Litten (110 hurdles in 16.17).
The James Wood boys were led by individual winners Matt Vitagliano (high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 6 inches and triple jump, 41-3), Sawyer Michelitch (300 hurdles in 45.11 and long jump, 20-31/4), Max Lindquist (3,200 in 10:48.76), Landon Rutherford (shot put, 44-3) and Logan Shiffler (discus, 127-8).
The James Wood girls were led by individual winners Emma Hammond (high jump, 4-6, long jump, 15-21/2, triple jump, 33-7), Princess Sales (100 in 13.38), Brittany Arnold (3,200 in 13:06.30), Grace Greene (shot put, 34-61/4) and Sarah Johnson (discus, 98-4).
The Sherando girls were led by individual winners Davina Lane (200 in 27.34, 100 hurdles in 16.54 and 300 hurdles in 48.45), Katie Rogers (800 in 2:37.57 and 1,600 in 5:44.28) and Rosa Gibson (400 in 1:09.79).
