GIRLS’ TRACK & FIELD - Colonels win district mini

WINCHESTER — James Wood scored 121 points to beat runner-up Handley (75) by 46 points at the Northwestern District mini meet Tuesday at the Handley Bowl.

Millbrook scored 45 points, Skyline scored 37 and Sherando scored three.

For James Wood, Rene Rosso won the triple jump (35-9), Grace Greene won the shot put (35-101/2) and Sarah Johnson won the discus (110-6).

For Handley, Miriah Smith win the 300 hurdles (49.42) and Angelica Robinson won the high jump (5-3).

For Millbrook, McKenzie Schrank won the 800 (2:31.96) and 100 hurdles (17.15), Mellany Groll won the 1,600 (6:02.12) and Mia VanderToorn won the long jump (17-0).
