Dontae Mauck — Handley — Senior — Sprints, Jumps, Hurdles
Mauck posted the area’s top marks in the 100 (10.59), 200 (21.75), 110 hurdles (15.85), 300 hurdles (38.20), high jump (6-4), long jump (23-101/2) and triple jump (46-5). 100: 2nd at Group 4A state meet; 4A North Region and Conference 23 champ. LJ: 2nd in state; C-23 champ. TJ: 3rd in state; C-23 champ. 200: 4th in state; C-23 champ. 300 hurdles: 7th in state; region champ. HJ: C-23 champ.
Aaron Arslan — Handley — Junior — Distance
In the 3,200, Arslan placed 5th at the Group 4A state meet (all-state) and 2nd in Conference 23 (9:48.47). Arslan ranked 3rd in the area. In the 1,600, placed 13th in Group 4A.
Jarett Cestaro — Handley — Senior — Jumps, Middle Distance
In the high jump, Cestaro placed 3rd in the 4A North Region, tied for 3rd in Conference 23, and tied for 13th at the Group 4A state meet. Ranked 2nd in the area (6-2). In the 400, placed 4th in C-23 (52.34). Ranked 3rd in area.
Tyler Cox-Philyaw — Millbrook — Junior — Distance
Cox-Philyaw posted the area’s top times in the 800 (1:54.57), 1,600 (4:13.06) and 3,200 (9:13.86). 800: 4th at Group 4A state meet (all-state) and champ for 4A North Region and Conference 21. 1,600: 4th in state (all-state); C-21 champ.
Ian Dors — Clarke County — Junior — Middle Distance
In the 800, Dors placed 2nd at the Group 2A state meet (1:59.06, all-state), 8th in the 2A East Region, and was the Conference 35 champion. Helped 4x400 team place 5th and 4x800 team place 7th at state meet (both all-state).
Justin Dulaney — Clarke County — Senior — Sprints, Jumps
Dulaney posted the area’s fastest time in the 400 (51.10). 400: 8th at Group 2A state meet (all-state). 100: 7th in state (11.37, all-state), Conference 35 champ. Triple jump: 6th in Group 2A (43-7, all-state), C-35 champ. 200: 2nd in C-35. LJ: C-35 champ. 2nd in area in 100, 200, 3rd in LJ.
Cameron Faint — Millbrook — Sophomore — Hurdles
In the 300 hurdles, Faint placed 13th at the Group 4A state meet, 6th in the 4A North Region, and was Conference 21 champion. Ranked 3rd in area (41.82). In the 110 hurdles, placed 2nd in C-21 (16.22). Ranked 3rd in area.
Jacquari Hayes — Sherando — Sophomore — Jumps
In the triple jump, placed 5th at the Group 4A state meet (44-11/2, all-state), 5th in the 4A North Region, and 3rd in Conference 21. Ranked 2nd in area. In the long jump, placed 7th in region and was C-21 champion.
Marquaye Jackson — Handley — Senior — Throws
In the shot put, Jackson placed 13th in Group 4A, 4th in the 4A North Region, and was Conference 23 champion. Ranked 3rd in the area (47-1). In the discus, placed 3rd in C-23.
Trent McCarty — Sherando — Senior — Throws
McCarty posted the area’s best marks in the discus (155-7) and the shot put (50-9). Won the discus for the area’s only state title at the Group 4A meet, and was also 4A North Region and Conference 21 champ. Shot put: 5th in state (all-state), 2nd in region, C-21 champ.
Vincent Nappi — Clarke County — Senior — Throws
In the discus, Nappi placed 11th at the Group 2A state meet, 4th in the 2A East Region, and was Conference 35 champion (142-1). Ranked 2nd in the area.
Landon Rutherford — James Wood — Senior — Throws
In the shot put, Rutherford placed 4th at the Group 4A state meet (49-43/4, all-state), tied for 5th in the 4A North Region, and placed 2nd in Conference 21. Ranked 2nd in area. In the discus, took 4th in C-21. Ranked 3rd in area.
Alec Schrank — Millbrook — Sophomore — Distance
In the 3,200, Schrank placed 3rd at the Group 4A state meet (all-state), and was Conference 21 champ. Ranked 2nd in area (9:26.42). 1,600: 12th in state, 2nd in region, 3rd in C-21. Ranked 3rd in area (4:21.92). 800: 4th in region.
Andrew Shade — James Wood — Senior — Distance
In the 800, Shade placed 3rd at the Group 4A state (1:57.19, all-state), 4A North Region, and Conference 21 meets. Ranked 3rd in area. Shade will run cross country for Fairmont State on a partial athletic scholarship next year.
Trevor Whiteside — Sherando — Junior — Distance
In the 800, Whiteside placed 2nd at the Group 4A state (all-state), 4A North Region and Conference 21 meets. Ranked 2nd in area (1:54.60). 1,600: 3rd in the region, 2nd in C-21 (4:20.47). Ranked 2nd in area. 400: Ranked 2nd in area (52.01).
