TRACK AND FIELD - Handley Invitational cancelled

WINCHESTER — With inclement weather in the forecast for Saturday, Handley director of student activities Rick Lilly stated in an email message that Saturday’s Handley Invitational has been cancelled.

Lilly said there is a projected low temperature of 24 degrees, a high of 42, wind chills in the low 30s and there is possibility of rain and snow. Lilly said he contacted each of the 29 schools, and the majority said they supported the idea of not competing.

In addition to Handley, James Wood, Millbrook, Sherando and Clarke County were slated to compete.
