BOYS' TRACK & FIELD - Wolverine Classic

PURCELLVILLE — Millbrook junior Cameron Faint won both the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles to highlight local performances on Friday night at the Wolverine Classic at Woodgrove High School.

Faint won the 110 hurdles in 15.72 to win by 0.26 over North Stafford’s Landry Moffo, and he won the 300 hurdles by 2.27 over Woodgrove’s Sean Murphy in 40.19.

Fauquier won the 22-school meet with 86 points. North Stafford was second with 85, Millbrook was fourth with 57.5, Sherando was sixth with 35, James Wood was 16th with 10, and Clarke County and Handley tied for 19th with 3.

Millbrook was also led by Alec Schrank (second in the 1,600, 4:23.36 and third in the 3,200, 9:44.75), Austin Devart (third in the 110 hurdles, 16.17) and Andrew Smith (third in the 300 hurdles, 42.84).

Sherando was led by Trevor Whiteside, who took second in the 800 (1:56.57) and ran on the 4x800 team with Thomas Shea, Thomas Powars and David Restrepo that placed second (8:09.10). Jacquari Hayes placed third in the triple jump (42-10 ½).

James Wood was paced by Isaac Schrantz (fourth in the discus, 128-7), Clarke County was led by Andy Bonett (sixth in the triple jump, 40-5) and Handley was paced by its 4x100 team (Chris Bockey, Arthur Ashe, Micah Strother, Jacob Shade, sixth in 45.11).
