GIRLS’ TRACK & FIELD - Colonels sweep tri-meet

WINCHESTER —Rene Rosso won three events and Hannah Cavanaugh took two as James Wood dominated a tri-meet against Skyline and Strasburg on Wednesday.

The Colonels won every event and finished with 135 points. Skyline (22) and Strasburg (9) followed.

Rosso captured the 200 (27.50), 400 (1:05.70) and long jump (15-10). Cavanagh took the shot put (35-11/2) and discus (114-2).

Other Colonels individual winners were: Kara Norman (13.60 in the 100), Haley Witt (2:44.80 in the 800), Mackenzie Konyar (5:51.70 in the 1,600), Maria Harter (12:20.70 in the 3,200), Gabbie Groundwater (18.60 in the 100 hurdles), Dy’Avean Sloane (51.80 in the 300 hurdles), Emma Hammond (4-9 in the high jump) and Eliana Creech (31-61/2 in the triple jump). James Wood also took the 400 relay (53.30), 1,600 relay (4:36.30) and 3,200 relay (11:17.60).
