INDOOR TRACK and FIELD - Class 4 Northwestern District Meet

 
 

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Handley boys and Sherando girls each took second at the Class 4 Northwestern District meet on Friday at Hagerstown Community College.

Fauquier won both seven-team competitions. In the boys’ meet, the Falcons scored 146 points. Handley was second with 133, Sherando was third with 65, James Wood was fifth with 55 and Millbrook was seventh with 34. In the girls’ meet, Fauquier scored 134 points. Sherando was second with 100, Handley was third with 94, Millbrook was fourth with 80 and James Wood was fifth with 74.

The top six individuals and the top three relays in each event automatically qualified for this Friday’s Region 4C meet, also at Hagerstown Community College.

The Handley boys were led by Trey Causey (first in the high jump, 6-8, long jump, 19-9.5, triple jump, 42-8.25, and 55 meters, 6.66), Jack Armel (first in the pole vault, 12-6), the 4x200 relay team of Kobi Vance, Miles Ashe, Max Doerwaldt and Causey (first in 1:39.51), Cooper Dawson (second in the long jump, 18-11; third in the high jump, 5-6), Doerwaldt (second in the 55 hurdles, 8.38), Quinten Newman (second in the shot put, 43-4.25), Ashe (second in the 55, 7.09) and the 4x400 team (third in 3:47.86).

The James Wood boys were led by Drake Tews (second in the high jump, 5-10), the 4x800 relay team (second in 9:10) and Dominic Revetta (third in the shot put, 43-1).

The Sherando boys were led by Isaiah Allen (first in the shot put, 51-8.25), Christian Arellano (first in the 1,600, 4:45.49 and 3,200, 10:13.47), Eldon Agard (third in the long jump, 18-2.5), Kyle Holliday (third in the 55 hurdles, 8.58) and the 4x200 relay team (third in 1:44.27).

The Sherando girls were led by the 4x200 team of Kendall Lincoln, Kaitlyn Roberts, Indhya Hayes and Donzailya Berg (first in 1:56.11), Berg (second in the 55 hurdles, 10.10; third in the high jump, 4-10, and long jump, 14-8.75), Lincoln (second in the 300, 45.56; third in the 55, 7.98), the 4x800 relay team (third in 11:09.01), Olivia Couillard (third in the 3,200, 12:43.15) and the 4x400 team (third in 4:49.00).

The Millbrook boys were led by John Pullen (second in the 1,600, 4:49.27) and David Blackstone (third in the triple jump, 40-7).

The Handley girls were led by Taylor Beard (first in the high jump, 5-8), Casey Nelson (first in the shot put, 37-6.5), Mary McKay (first in the pole vault, 10-6, and 55, 7.50), Kristin Blake (second in the 1,000, 3:14.48; third in the 1,600, 5:29.30), Riley Fisher (second in the 3,200, 12:20.72), Alexis Grady (third in the pole vault, 7-0) and the 4x200 team (third in 2:00.18).

The James Wood girls were led by Rene Rosso (first in the long jump, 14-11.5, triple jump, 33-6.75, and 55 hurdles, 8.83; second in the high jump, 5-6 and 55, 7.82; third in the 300, 46.37) and the 4x400 team (second in 4:47.84).

The Millbrook girls were led by Kaycee Cox-Philyaw (first in the 1,600, 5:27.03, third in the 500, 1:25.58), Sarah Purdy (first in the 300, 45.21; second in the long jump, 14-11; third in the 55 hurdles, 10.33), Ava Derrick (second in the triple jump, 31-8.5) and the 4x800 relay team (second in 10:29.43).
