GIRLS' TRACK & FIELD - Colonels take local quad

STEPHENS CITY — Millbrook's Sarah Purdy won three events individual events and Sherando's Ella Carlson took two, but James Wood's depth prevailed as the Colonels won a quad-meet on Wednesday.

James Wood finished with 75 points to top Sherando (69.5), Millbrook (52) and Handley (32.5).

Event winners: James Wood: Audrey Sandy (4-8 in the high jump); Riley Rose (1:03.60 in the 400); Lauren Beatty (2:33.13 in the 800); Millbrook: Purdy (15-6 in the long jump, 16.23 in the 100 hurdles and 48.34 in the 300 hurdles); Sophie Edlich (5:27.49 in the 1,600); Sherando: Kaitlyn Roberts (35-0.5 in the triple jump); Carlson (115-10 in the discus and 33-11 in the shot put); Haley Mack (12.87 in the 100); Karli Brown (13:47.71 in the 3,200); 4x100 relay (Thais Agard, Indhya Hayes, Roberts, Mack) in 51.27; 4x400 relay (Agard, Molly Robinson, Victoria Corbit, Roberts) in 4:21.27; Handley: Sofia Posasas (26.66 in the 200).
