Track & field: Colonels win girls' meet

WINCHESTER — The James Wood girls took first place in a tri-meet on Thursday at Kelican Stadium.

The Colonels had 69.75 points to edge Fauquier (64.5) and Handley (26.75).

In the boys' meet, Fauquier won with 67, followed by James Wood (57) and Handley (39).

Girls' event winners:

James Wood: Olivia Boyce (triple jump, 32-3.5); Lillian Lovelace (1,600, 5:43.69); Omaie Aarami (400, 1:02.93); Kate Konyar (800, 2:12.01); 4x100 relay 52.52; 4x400 relay 4:26.54.

Handley: Elizabeth Imoh (high jump, 4-10); Znyah Johnson (long jump, 14-7); Emeryce Worrell (100, 12.36).

Boys' event winners:

James Wood: Chris Lockley (triple jump, 33-7.5); Colton Staneart (1,600, 4:57.68); Trenton Manili (400, 53.07); Lawrence Gittrich (3,200, 10:51.63); 4x400 relay 3:38.13.

Handley: Rodd'ney Davenport (discus, 120-5); Jaishaun Offutt (shot put, 47-11.5); Brendan Campbell (300 hurdles, 43.42); 4x100 relay 44.61.
