Track: Sherando boys, Wood girls capture meet
WINCHESTER — The Sherando boys and the James Wood girls were each victorious at a five-team Class 4 Northwestern District meet at the Colonels' Kelican Stadium on Wednesday.
Led by Brady Hamilton's three event wins, the Warriors scored 154 points in the boys' meet and were followed by Kettle Run (73), James Wood (55.5), Liberty (38) and Handley (6). Hamilton won the 100 meters in 11.20 seconds, the 200 in 22.90 and the 400 in 51.61.
The Colonels girls had 111 points and were followed by Kettle Run (93), Sherando (61), Liberty (34) and Handley (19).
Other Sherando boys' winners: AJ Santiago, long jump, 20-9.5, triple jump, 41-8.25; Micah Carlson, high jump, 6-0, discus 146-4; Ethan Gonzalez, shot put 47-1.5; 4x800, 10:38.80.
James Wood boys' winners: Andrew Link, 110 hurdles, 16.42; Jorel Baltimore, 300 hurdles, 44.72.
James Wood girls' winners: Tenley Mattison, high jump, 4-8, long jump 15-4; Olivia Boyce, triple jump, 32-10.5; Isabelle French, 100 hurdles, 17.69; Sarah Moss, 1,600, 5:56.40; 4x400, 4:36.96.
Sherando girls' winners: Eva Winston, 800, 2:26.74; Aliza Murray, 200, 27.17.
Handley girls' winner: Elizabeth Imoh, 300 hurdles, 46.16.
