Colonels sweep Skyline in track dual

WINCHESTER — Host James Wood swept Skyline in a dual track and field meet Wednesday evening.

James Thorne won the triple jump, high jump and long jump to lead the Colonels’ boys to a 78-54 victory. Thorne also finished second in the 400-meter dash, which was won by teammate Mason Smith.

John Simms won the 100 and 200, and Aaron Shiffler took first in the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

James Wood’s girls defeated Skyline 87-26.

Shannan Thorne won the 400 and the high jump, and Megan Craig won both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles.

Oshene Kelly won four events (100, 200, long jump, triple jump) to score all but six of Skyline’s points in the girls’ competition.
