WINCHESTER --With James Wood knocking down 3-pointers like they were layups, Millbrook refused to get rattled.
Trailing late in the game, the Pioneers' defense stiffened and used a 12-1 run to pull out a 67-57 Northwestern District win over the Colonels on Friday night.
"We tried some man, we tried some zone, they just kept knocking them down in our face," Millbrook senior guard Andrew Oates said. "They have some great shooters.
"When a team is doing that I think that's when you find out about your character. I think we did a good job of handling it."
The Colonels finished the game 11-for-24 from the 3-point range. Trae Tinsman hit the Colonels' final 3 of the night with 3:46 left to put them up 56-55.
