BOYS’ BASKETBALL - Hawks 43, Colonels 41

FRONT ROYAL — Brandon Walters scored a team-high 12 points to help Skyline hold off James Wood 43-41 in Friday night’s Northwestern District basketball game.

James Wood (4-6, 0-2 Northwestern) went just 1 for 4 from the free-throw line in the final minute and then missed a layup as time expired.

The Colonels led 23-15 at the break, but the Hawks scored 18 points in the third to take a 33-30 lead into the the final quarter.

Colin Smith added 10 points for the Hawks (6-6, 2-2).

Chandler Brooks led James Wood with 19 points, and Branson Ratlief added nine points and seven rebounds.
