James Wood senior Colin Watts, a soccer and basketball player, has been named one of 20 finalists in Virginia for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award.
The honor recognizes the top student-athletes in each state and nationally. Each finalist receives a bronze medal and a gift card from Wendy’s. The state winners will be selected on Nov. 9.
Watts was among six athletes from Frederick County to win their school honors. Millbrook’s Amanda Hayton and Jake Mihill, Sherando’s Anthony Allegra and Rhiannon Moore and James Wood’s Faith Mann were school winners.
