Armel’s triple-double helps power Colonels

WINCHESTER — Junior Heather Armel had a triple-double Wednesday night to help lead James Wood’s girls to a 69-57 Northwestern District basketball victory over Kettle Run.

Armel scored 30 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and had 10 steals for the Colonels (2-3, 2-0). Teammate Haley Smith added 20 points. She also added 12 boards and six blocked shots.

Kettle Run’s Jazmyne Moore led all scorers with 31 points, including a 9-for-11 performance from the foul line.
