GIRLS’ BASKETBALL - Colonels 52, Patriots 41

STEPHENS CITY — James Wood bounced back from a tough loss Thursday to beat Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy in a non-district game Friday.

The Colonels (11-6) received 13 points and seven assists from junior Danielle Rizzari, freshman Taylor Heishman finished with six points, 14 rebounds and six blocks and senior Whitney Dick scored six points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win.

SVCA (11-6) shot just 10 of 28 from the free-throw line and was led by Grace Snyder’s 16 points and seven rebounds and Samantha Yarnall’s 10 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
