Colonel Girls Down Liberty, 44-34

BEALETON — The James Wood girls’ basketball team took an 11-point lead into halftime and held off Liberty for a 44-34 win on the road Thursday evening.
The Colonels (15-5) led 12-6 at the end of the first quarter and 26-15 heading into the locker room on their way to a season sweep of the Eagles.
Junior Keiana Brooks scored a team-high 13 points to go along with eight rebounds, five assists and five steals, senior Danielle Rizzari added 10 points and seven assists, and fellow senior Sarah Johnson totaled eight points and six rebounds in the win.
