Winchester — After a week of ice and snow outside, the James Wood and Central girls’ basketball teams seemed to bring the frigid weather into the gym with them Friday for their Northwestern District showdown.
Neither side shot the ball well. They had 43 turnovers between them, combined for 71 free throws, and lost two players each to fouls. Not surprisingly, the game came down to a foul, a turnover, and two critical trips to the line in the final seconds.
