James Wood girls knock off Skyline

FRONT ROYAL — James Wood’s Amber Wooldridge scored 15 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the Colonels in a 43-31 Northwestern District victory over Skyline on Friday night.

The Colonels (11-3, 2-1 Northwestern) led 11-3 at the end of the first quarter and built an 18-9 advantage at the half.

James Wood’s Hannah Arnold had a double-double, scoring 14 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Arnold also led the Colonels with four blocks. Makayla Firebaugh also finished with a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Firebaugh also had a team-best five assists.

With the loss, Skyline’s record fell to 8-7 (0-3 district).
