Girls' Basketball - James Wood 48, Liberty 39

WINCHESTER — James Wood overcame an injury to Josie Russell and defeated Liberty 48-39 in Class 4 Northwestern District action on Thursday.

The Colonels (7-3, 2-0 district) were without Russell for the majority of the game, as she left the game early in the first quarter and did not return. Wood led 19-13 after the first quarter, 30-16 at halftime and 37-21 after the third quarter.

Wood leaders: Ashlyn Evans 16 points; Aubrey Nail 13 points; Hailey Harlow 7 points, 5 rebounds; Dayana Jackson 5 points, 4 rebounds; Maddie Shirley 3 points, 7 steals.
