INDOOR TRACK - Conference 21A meet

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Handley boys won the Conference 21A indoor track meet Friday at Hagerstown Community College by 72 points over runner-up Millbrook.

In the five-school competition, Handley scored 164 points. The Judges were followed by Millbrook (92), Harrisonburg (78) and Sherando (70). Woodgrove does not participate in indoor track, and James Wood does not have a boys’ team.

Harrisonburg won the girls’ meet with 116.7 points. Handley was second with 92, Sherando was third with 85.33, Millbrook was fourth with 62 and James Wood was fifth with 61.

Individual winners for the Handley boys were Trey Causey in the high jump (6 feet), Tyler Mudd in the pole vault (9-6), Marcus Tactikos in the long jump (19-4) and Micah Strother in the triple jump (36-9 ½).

Pioneer winners were Josh Davis in the 55 meters (7.02 seconds) and 300 (38.38), Cameron Faint in the 500 (1:13.61) and 55 hurdles (8.42), Tyler Cox-Philyaw (3,200 in 9:40.58) and Tyler Russell (shot put, 39-7).

The Sherando boys had one individual winner in Trevor Whiteside, who took the 1,600 in 4:30.29.

In the girls’ meet, Olivia Dickens-Bowman, Casey Nelson, Maria Terziyska and Mya Mintschenko teamed to win the 4x400 in 4:34.09 for Handley. Also winning for the Judges was Taylor Beard (high jump in 5-2).

For Sherando, Davina Lane won the 300 (44.37), the 500 (1:25.98) and the 55 hurdles (8.92). Ania Summers won the 55 in 7.77 seconds and teamed with Olivia Brown, Alora Dennis and Donzailya Berg to win the 4x200 in 1:56.09.

For Millbrook, Nadia Dahimene won the 3,200 in 12:19.26 and teamed with Kaycee Cox-Philyaw, Hannah Croyle and Sophie Edlich to win the 4x800 in 10:34.28.

James Wood had three individual winners in the field events - Rene Rosso in the long jump (16-2), Becca Ferrulli in the triple jump (32-3 ¼) and Grace Greene in the shot put (35-8).
