INDOOR TRACK - District Mini

CULPEPER — The Sherando boys took second place to highlight local performances at the Northwestern District indoor track mini meet held at Northwestern Class 3 Culpeper County High School on Wednesday.

Culpeper scored 144.5 points out of the nine competing teams (there are 13 Northwestern schools in total). Sherando scored 53 points, James Wood was third with 48.5 and Millbrook was fourth with 47.

Culpeper won the girls’ meet with 93.5 points, 12.5 more than second-place Fauquier (81). James Wood was fourth with 56, Sherando was fifth with 43.5 and Millbrook tied for seventh with 26.

Local boys event winners were: Sherando — Erick Dotson (500, 1:10.87), Jacob Carr (1,000, 2:51.79); James Wood — Drake Tews (high jump, 5-9), Dominic Revetta (shot put — 41-9); Millbrook — John Pullen (1,600, 4:48.31, 3,200, 11:05.12).
