Rosso win again in Region 4C meet

WINCHESTER — Handley’s Trey Causey won two events and James Wood’s Rene Rosso captured another as the Region 4C Indoor Track & Field Championship concluded with jumping events Wednesday at James Wood High School.

Causey’s leap of 20 feet, 1 inch, topped teammate Cooper Dawson (19-5) for the top spot in the long jump. Causey soared 43-41/4 to win the triple jump by more than a foot.

Millbrook’s David Blackstone was fourth (41-31/2) and Dawson (38-71/2) was fifth in the triple jump. Sherando’s Eldon Agard (17-101/2) was sixth in the long jump.

Rosso, who captured the 55 hurdles on Friday, added another win by leaping 35-71/2 in the triple jump. Rosso also finished second in the long jump with a distance of 15-51/2.
