SWIMMING: Pioneers, Colonels split meet

WINCHESTER- Millbrook's boys and James Wood's girls posted victories as the Pioneers and Colonels split Friday night's Northwestern District dual meet at Jim Barnett Park.

The Pioneer boys won 124-46.

Michael Span won the 200 free (2:19.66) and the 400 free (4:53.12) and teamed with Nick Patton, Thomas Northrup and Mark Graham for two more wins in the medley relay (2:02.93) and the 200 free relay (1:53.89). Northrup won the 200 individual medley (2:25.81) and the 100 fly (1:09.57).

James Wood was led by Connor Babington, who won the 50 free in 27.21.

In the girls' meet, Millbrook's Abby McClellan won the 100 fly (1:21.59) and teamed with Rachel Baker, Holly Stevens and Kaitlyn Oates for another win in the 400 free relay (4:59.39). Katie Kozlowski won the 100 breaststroke (1:21.73) for the Pioneers.

For the Colonels, Alex Lew won the 100 free (1:07.88) and the 200 free (2:32.57), Sara Fergus won the 200 IM (2:39.55) and 100 backstroke (1:18.26) and Laura Moss won the 400 free (5:42.13). McKenzie McNemar, Whitacre, Fergus and Lew teamed up to win both the 200 medley relay (2:19.11) and 200 free relay (2:04.66).
