City-County Swim Relays

WINCHESTER — The Millbrook and Sherando swim teams tied for first Saturday at the City-County Relays held at the War Memorial Building pool in Jim Barnett Park.

The meet featured combined boys’ and girls’ scoring, and Millbrook and Sherando each scored 120 points. Handley was third with 116 points, and James Wood was fourth with 72. Millbrook won three events. Danny Hollingsworth, Maddie Treiber, Alex Morrow and Katie Kozlowski won the mixed 200-meter breaststroke relay in a time of 2 minutes, 42.56 seconds; Joe Patterson, McKenzie Schrank, Chris Patton and Taylor Linder won the mixed 200 butterfly relay in 2:13.68; and Hunter Doherty, Patton, Morrow and Mark Graham won the boys’ 400 freestyle relay in 4:11.50.

Sherando won three events. Alexis English, Brianna English, Christina Lee and Kelsey Dingman won the girls’ 200 medley relay in 2:19.20; Lee, Alexis English, Victoria Reese and Dingman won the girls’ 200 free relay in 2:03.85; and Lee, Alexis English, Brenna Sharp and Dingman won the girls’ 400 free relay in 4:37.97.

Handley won six events, with the team of Carter Watts, Alex Johnson, Samuel Stearns and Taylor Watts achieving the only state-qualifying time of the meet in winning the boys’ 200 free relay in 1:47.00.

The Judges other victories came in the boys’ 200 medley relay (Carter Watts, Taylor Watts, Stearns, Cole Stevens) in 2:06.19; the mixed 200 medley relay (Taylor Watts, Liz Grove, Clay Sublett, Eileen Wilkerson) in 2:15.08; the mixed 200 free relay (Allegra Zamore, Nathan Savoie, William Truban, Aleksa Putnam) in 2:07.81; the mixed 200 backstroke relay (Medha Gopal, Alex Day, Jackie Martin, Carter Watts) in 2:22.65; and the mixed 200 free 8x25 relay (Hannah Bacon, Ned Selzer, Morgan Grove, Sublett, Putnam, Stearns, Wilkerson, Taylor Watts) 1:59.31.
