SWIMMING - Warriors sweep Colonels

WINCHESTER — The Sherando girls’ swimming team defeated James Wood 115-55 while the Warrior boys beat the Colonels 102-67 in a Northwestern District dual meet Friday at the War Memorial building in Jim Barnett Park.

The Sherando girls were led by Kelsey Dingman, who won the 50-meter freestyle in 30.28 seconds and the 400-meter freestyle in 5:16.57, Christina Lee, who won the 200-meter freestyle in 2:30.73 and the 100-meter butterfly in 1:13.31, and Brenna Sharp, who took the 100-meter freestyle in 1:09.42 and the 100-meter backstroke in 1:17.20.

The Warrior boys were led by Tomy McVey (50 free, 29.41), Ethan Medrano (400 free, 5:36.59), Mark Restrepo (100 backstroke, 1:17.50), and Jason Lee (100 breaststroke, 1:22.75).

The James Wood boys were led by Brian Baker, who won the 200 freestyle in 2:16.43 and the 100 freestyle in 58.58, and Conor Babington, who won the 200 individual medley in 2:33.65 and the 100 butterfly in 1:06.59, and Colonel girls were led by Brooke Marcy, who took first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:31.58.
