SWIMMING - Colonels sweep Pioneers in dual
WINCHESTER — James Wood High School’s swim teams swept Millbrook in a dual meet at Jim Barnett Park on Wednesday night. The Colonel girls won 55-39, and Wood’s boys won 55-34.
James Wood’s Dean Ludwig won both the 200-meter free (2:28.06) and the 100 back (1:15.62) and Brian Hua won the 100 fly (1:07.18) and the 100 breast (1:18.59). Other Colonel boys’ winners included David Dorsey in the 50 free (29.37) and Jared Arkfeld in the 100 free (1:11.06).
Millbrook’s Patrick Northrup led the way for the Pioneers, winning both the 200 individual medley (2:39.21) and the 400 free (4:55.36). In the girls’ meet, James Wood’s Zoe Schopick won the 100 fly (1:12.95) and Lydia Sunderlin won the 50 free (30.64). Abbey Esslinger won both the 100 breast (1:27.65) and 200 I.M. (2:40.33), and Lindsay Fairbanks won both the 100 back (1:14.17) and the 200 free (2:25.43) to lead the Pioneers.
Other Millbrook winners included: Taylor Linder in the 100 free (1:07.26) and Erin Dooley in the 400 free (5:36.62).
