Girls' Swimming - Holiday Hundreds Invitational

MANASSAS — Sherando took second on Saturday at the Holiday Hundreds Invitational, a meet featuring the 11 Northwestern District schools with swimming programs at the Prince William County Schools Aquatic Center. There were five events. No relay events were held.

Kettle Run had 175 points to edge the Warriors, who had 174.5. James Wood’s Kimberly Warnagiris (100-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly) was the only local swimmer to win two events.

Sherando leaders: Jordyn Jones (100 backstroke, 1st, 1:02.85, state-qualifying time; 200 IM, 6th, 2:26.62); Kara Schultz (200 IM, 1st, 2:20.82; 100 butterfly, 3rd, 1:03.84); Emma De Jong (100 freestyle, 2nd, 55.69, state time; 100 back, 6th, 1:05.28); Lindley Armel (200 IM, 4th, 2:25.99; 100 fly, tied for 4th, 1:07.15); Natalee Tusing (100 free, 5th, 59.24).

James Wood leaders: Warnagiris (100 freestyle, 1st, 54.80, state time; 100 fly, 59.93, state time); Paige Simko (100 breaststroke, 1st, 1:11.41, state time; 100 free, 4th, 56.89).

Millbrook leader: Lyddie Esslinger (100 back; 2nd, 1:03.32; 100 free, 3rd, 56.57).

Handley leader: Kenzi Fergus (100 backstroke, 4th, 1:04.72; 100 fly, 6th, 1:09.11).
