Class 4 Northwestern District - Girls' Swim Meet

WARRENTON — Sherando sophomore Emma De Jong was the only local swimmer to win two events on Saturday at the Class 4 Northwestern District girls' meet at the Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility.

De Jong won the 200-yard individual medley (2:12.03) by 0.29 seconds and the 100 freestyle (55.02) by 1.03 seconds. Both are state-qualifying times. De Jong also teamed with Natalee Tusing, Kyra Schultz and Jordyn Jones to win the 400 freestyle by 9.51 seconds in a state-qualifying time of 3:52.10.

Kettle Run defended its championship with 315 points, 26 more than Sherando (289). The top eight individuals and top four relays in each event advanced to Friday's Region 4C meet at the Claude Moore Recreation Center.
