Region swim meet now off

Winchester — The Region II Swimming Championships scheduled for today has been cancelled because of concerns over potential inclement weather.

Kettle Run High School, which is hosting the meet at the Warrenton Aquatic Center, stated in an e-mail that its school superintendent made the decision to cancel the meet because of the forecast. As a result, only individuals and relays with state qualifying times will be eligible to compete in the Group AA/A state meet, which will take place Friday and Saturday at Old Dominion University.
