Swimming: Wood girls go 3-0 at quad meet

WINCHESTER — The James Wood girls’ team went won five events and went 3-0 at a quad meet at Jim Barnett Park on Saturday.

Wood’s girls defeated Kettle Run (125-32), Strasburg (119-44) and Sherando (113-56).

Wood’s boys went 2-1, defeating Strasburg (76-46) and Sherando (76-58) and losing to Kettle Run (81-72).

The Sherando girls went 2-1, defeating Kettle Run (97-43) and Strasburg (88-62) and losing to James Wood.

Sherando’s boys went 1-2, defeating Strasburg (64-52) and falling to Kettle Run (86-62) and James Wood.

James Wood girls’ winners: Ryan Oliver (200 freestyle in 2:43.82); Annie Hua (50 freestyle in 31.47); Sophia Howard (400 freestyle in 6:00.98); 200 medley relay (Sophia Caruso, Hua, Lauren Thompson, Oliver) in 2:24.68; 400 freestyle relay (Howard, Thompson, Hua, Oliver) in 4:51.05.

James Wood boys’ winners: Josh Harty (200 freestyle in 2:34.22); Michael Thompson (200 IM in 2:35.17; 400 freestyle in 5:01.54); Alex Hua (50 freestyle in 26.59; 100 breaststroke in 1:15.74); Eddie Grimes (100 freestyle in 56.35; 100 backstroke in 1:04.23); 200 medley relay (Michael Thompson, Alex Hua, Eddie Grimes, Julian Nardelli) in 2:04.68); 400 freestyle relay (Harty, Thompson, Grimes, Hua) in 4:13.69.

Sherando girls’ winners: Molly Eanes (200 IM in 2:52.06; 100 backstroke in 1:16.85).
