Swimming: James Wood girls sweep tri meet

WARRENTON — The James Wood girls defeated Fauquier 161-113 and Liberty 194-79 in a tri meet on Friday at the Warrenton Aquatic & Recreation Facility.

The Colonels boys lost 110-107 to Fauquier and 156-95 to Liberty.

James Wood girls' winners: Kallie Gyurison (50-yard free, 27.53, 100 breast, 1:17.47); Annie Hua (100 free, 1:01.94); 200 medley relay (Lauren Thompson, Gyurisin, Ryan Oliver, Hua), 2:05.50; 200 free relay (Thompson, Hua, Oliver, Gyurison), 1:53.13.

James Wood boys' winners: Eddie Grimes (200 IM, 2:02.50, 500 free, 5:02.85); Zach Harrington (tied for first in 50 free, 25.03); Michael Thompson (100 free, 55.00); Alex Hua (100 breast, 1:06.91); 400 free relay (Thompson, Josh Harty, Grimes, Hua) 3:41.03.
