2010 All-Area Swimming Team

The following James Wood High School swimmers were named to the Winchester Star All-Area Swim Team. Selections are made by The Winchester Star sports staff, based on performances and results throughout the season.

Kevin Carver
James Wood — Senior

Carver placed eighth in the 50 freestyle (22.64) and ninth in the 100 free (50.05) at the Group AA/A state meet. He won both of those events at the Northwestern District meet.

Emalee Firestein
James Wood — Senior

Firestein placed 15th in the 200 freestyle (2:02.72) and 15th in the 500 free (5:36.33) at the Group AA/A state meet. She won both the 200 and 400-meter freestyles at the district meet.

Alex Lew
James Wood - Sophmore

Lew placed 34th in the 100 freestyle (59.06) at the Group AA/A state meet. She placed second in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle at the Northwestern District meet.

Kaye Whitacre
James Wood - Sophmore

Whitacre placed 19th in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.51) at the Group AA/A state meet. She won the 100 breaststroke and placed fourth in the 200 IM at the Northwestern District meet.
