Warriors sweep Colonels

WINCHESTER- The Sherando boys won 127-40 and the girls won 117-53 in a Northwestern District dual meet Friday at the War Memmorial Building.

The Warrior boys were led by Tanner Westmoreland and Morgan De Jong, who each swam on Sherando's three winning relays - the 200-meter medley (2 minutes, 8.12 seconds), the 200 free (1:49.40) and the 400 free (4:18.47). Westmoreland also won the 50 free (27.06) and De Jong won the 100 butterfly (1:08.31).

James Wood's boys were led by Derek Hill (first in the 200 free in 2:35.27) and Chad Schott (first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.38).

Sherando's girls were led by Megan De Jong, who won the 200 individual medley (2:39.04) and the 100 backstroke (1:13.87). She also was on the winning 200 medley team (2:16.82).

Kaye Whitacre won two events for James Wood - the 100 free (1:07.25) and the 100 breaststroke (1:24.08).
