WRESTLING - Colonels, Eagles 4-1 at Hedgesville Duals

HEDGESVILLE, W.VA. — James Wood and Clarke County both went 4-1 on the opening day of the Hedgesville (W.Va.) Duals Tournament Friday.

The Colonels defeated Hedgesville 72-12, Fairmont Senior (W.Va.) 42-32, Briar Woods (54-24) and North Marion (W.Va.) 50-22 and lost to Woodgrove 53-21.

James Wood had three wrestlers go 5-0 with five pins — Aaron Black (113), Matt Papastavrou (132) and Jimmy Woznak (152). Matt Artrup also went 5-0 (120).

Clarke County defeated Briar Woods 39-27, Hedgesville 60-12, North Marion 45-27 and Hidden Valley 43-30 and lost to Woodgrove 47-27.

The Eagles had Bryan Wallace (182) and Jaxon Ottobre (132) each go 5-0 and Cody Schneeman (113), Bayne Gordon (120), Logan Withers (195) and Mark Alexander (220) each go 4-1.

The tournament — which also includes Sherando — concludes today at 9 a.m.
