Area wrestling teams have reason to be optimistic

WINCHESTER — Millbrook and James Wood won’t be taking as many wrestlers as they’d like to the Group AA and A state wrestling tournaments this weekend, but that isn’t stopping them from having lofty goals.
Twenty-nine area wrestlers, including seven from a Strasburg program that is looking for its first Group A state title since 2000 and fifth overall, will be in action today at 10 a.m. at the Salem Civic Center for championship first round and first round consolation matches. Quarterfinals will follow at 6 p.m. and second round consolations will start at 9.
