Wrestling - Wood goes 8-0 in duals

PURCELLVILLE — James Wood defeated all eight of its opponents at the two-day Loudoun Valley duals tournament that concluded on Saturday.

On Friday, James Wood beat Broad Run 52-28, Westfield 42-30 and Briar Woods 54-29. On Saturday, the Colonels beat Washington (W.Va.) 51-24, Martinsburg (W.Va.) 69-9, Spring Mills (W.Va.) 84-0, Falls Church 66-15 and Potomac Falls 66-10.

The Colonels were led by Matt Papastavrou (8-0 at 152 pounds); Jack Youngblood (6-0 at 160); Corey Lemons (126), Aaron Curd (138), Bailey Eichelberger (170) and Dawson Ray (285), who each went 7-1, Josh Arce (6-1 at 113) and Sam Wiik (5-1 at 120).
